Italian SMEs not very active in emerging markets
M&A activity in Italy is rebounding, although Italian medium-size companies seem not ready to move in emerging markets. Attilio Arietti – Chairman of M&A International Inc., interviewed during the M&A Mid-Market Forum in Stockholm, identifies the problem not in the lack of financial resources but in human resources, due to the family-ownership of the majority of small firms. Nevertheless, many SMEs are active towards East European markets, while an increasing number of foreign firms is looking for acquisitions in Italy. Furthermore, Mark Lerner (M&A International Inc.) analyses the increasing activity in the Chinese Stock Markets. (language: Italian)
