Attilio Arietti analyses the current global M&A and private equity trends. Europe and, to a lower degree, US are affected by the national debt crisis, private equity is dynamically growing in Asia. South America and Asia are the primary target for Western investors, whereas their investments towards Europe and US are decreasing. Energy, Mineral, Chemal, Pharma and Finance are the most active sector in M&A transactions. In Italy, only 30% transactions are among domestic operators, whereas 70% are acquisitions from abroad.
