Welcome to the follow-up page of the M&A International Inc. Spring Conference 2008, held from 15 to 17 May at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston.
The goal of the Conference was to create a collaborative event for M&A International members and serve as a platform for members to learn from each other and develop best practices.
The Boston Conference followed a new format to previous North American conferences. Much of the internal meetings were structured around a three-track program for Principals, Executives and Marketing professionals so that all participants could benefit directly.

- The 8th Strategic Acquirors Forum (SAF) was held during the morning of Thursday 15 May, a unique opportunity for a limited number of companies with global expansion plans to meet with M&A experts from countries they are targeting.
- "Growing Opportunities in a Shrinking World" the external conference where leading panelists discussed together with M&A International Inc. Principals, Executives and invited guests from the private equity community and corporate leaders from a variety of industries.
- Internally, M&A International Inc. members were offered ample time to network amongst each other through the Internal Mid-Market Forum and multiple social events and dinners.
- David Gergen - a former White House advisor to Presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton and currently Professor at Harvard University – gave an inspiring speech as the conclusion of the Conference.
GROWING OPPORTUNITIES IN A SHRINKING WORLD

The U.S. economy has become the focal point in the ensuing U.S. presidential primary campaigns. The spread of the credit crisis, volatility within the stock indices across the globe, the weakening U.S. dollar and domestic unemployment have played a pivotal role in each candidate’s platform. The policies the next president develops, both foreign and domestic, will greatly influence how the U.S. economy coexists with the emerging economies and a globalized business world. Will the U.S. embrace globalization or succumb to domestic pressures for protectionist policies?
We had the great honor to interact with David Gergen, CNN political pundit and former advisor to Presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton. Mr. Gergen is an engaging and highly respected public person; he delivered his address to M&A International Inc. at the end of our Conference program.
